Partner Agencies

Partner agencies receive funding from SCUW to make significant impacts through long term solutions; engaging and empowering people in our community to make life better for all.  Any 501C3 agency in Steuben County providing human services through education, health and income is eligible to apply for grant funding.   

 

2112-1-1 provides free and confidential information and referral. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more.

 

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters Northeast Indiana:  Helps children reach their potential through one-to-one relationships with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth.


CAHOOTSFocuses on providing a safe and non-threatening environment for enrichment and socialization of kids and teens.

 

 

CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocate Program: Trained volunteers give powerless children involved in abuse, custody and visitation issues a voice in court.

 

CAVA: Family Ties Program: allows children access to non-custodial parent without conflict. This ensures safety for victims and children during visitation and custodial exchanges. 

 

Children's First Center-Healthy Families Program: A home-based abuse and neglect prevention program that identifies families at risk as early as birth. Enrolled in a weekly visitation program, families receive instruction, modeling and support to raise childre in healthy nurturing environments.

Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry Encourages hunters and farmers to donate game and livestock to be processed and delivered to local hunger relief agencies.

RISE: Educates persons with disabilities about daily living and also trains disabled adults in physical, social, emotional and vocational growth. 

 

RSVP: Retired Senior Volunteer Program through the Catholic Charities recruits and places volunteers with non-profit agencies, schools, hospitals, nursing homes and governmental units in need of volunteers.

 

 

Steuben County Council on Aging:  Offers an opportunity for frail, elderly people to obtain socialization, hands-on health care as needed by a licensed nurse and nutrional meals and activities as a last effort to avoid institutional placement.

 

Steuben County Literacy Coalition: ABC Program - Free tutoring program for preschool children and their parents/caregivers to promote essential skills for kindergarten readiness.

 

TLC-Steuben: Empowers survivors of domestic violence in a safe Transitional Living Center with tools for self sufficieny.

 

Therapeutic Riding Center of Steuben County: Benefits children and adults with disabilities.

 

 

Turning Point Shelter: Provides temporary shelter to individuals and families while offering resources for personal success.

 

 

Women In TransitionWomen in Transition (WIT)-A Recovery House provides a safe haven for women recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. Angola, Indiana.
